Love on a Monday

Hope you had a lovely weekend.

Big T came home from school yesterday and surprised us.

So I made his favorite pot roast for lunch to celebrate.  Then he and B played musical chairs and tables for me afterward. We switched the glass top in the breakfast nook with the wood trestle in the dining room.

I like it.

Now if I could only decide what to do about those ugly brown pleather chairs.

In other news, B has been sick with the flu and whathaveyou since last week.  He moaned and groaned and schlumped and grumped through two entire days this weekend, and the doctor took one look at him and gave that boy a big ol' shot of penicillin first thing this morning.  So, for Valentine's Day this year, I'm getting a raincheck for dinner at Firebird's and a movie.  That's ok.  Mondays are just not my first choice for a holiday, y'know?

A few things I love on this ballemtime's day, on my way to 1000:

93.  A surprise visit
94.  Pot roast
95.  Strong arms
96.  Toile

97.  Tulips, bowing low in graceful exit

98.  Pools of Sunday sunlight on wood floor

99.  Candle flicker in tarnished silver.
(Mint Basil and Tomato, both from Target.  Yum.)

100.  Reflections

Happy Hearts' Day to all,

  5. The tulips in that animal vase are beautiful. Sorry about the husband being sick...men make the worst patients! And how fun you got a surprise visit from your son. My daughter surprised us this weekend too. Was fun to have her home and have all 4 of us in the same house.

  6. Too bad about your husband being sick, but I agree... Mondays aren't what come to mind when I think of special days. Isn't it fun to switch furnishings around, especially when the changes make spaces seem fresh and new? The images you posted are beautiful, especially the ones with the tulips in them. Thanks for sharing.

  8. Love your photos and the words. I have yet to get that book, but I will soon. We spent Valentine's Day with our kiddoes. Our newest granddaughter was 2 weeks that day. That was much better than chocolates.
