Eddie, My Bird Brain, and Flowers

You'll never guess what I did today.

Go on. Just try.

Give up?

I thought so.

Well, what I did today was...

I went junkin'.

With Eddie.

And Jaithan.

I KNOW!!! SHUT. UP!!!

There were about 20 of us and boy did we turn some heads traipsing through the tents of the Metrolina this morning.  You know what was surprising?  Most of the vendors were NOT happy that so many people were in their booth and crowding the aisles.  I was usually bringing up the rear of the group because I tend to shop REALLY SLOWLY and have to see (and touch) everything, so I overheard a ton of comments and saw many raised eyebrows as we herded through.  I absolutely could not believe how snarky the dealers and customers alike were being.  I also could not believe how many people didn't know who Eddie Ross was.

Anyhow.

The man knows his stuff, y'all.

He was knowledgeable and funny and kind.

Alas, there was one teeny tiny problem.

I grabbed Tater Tot's Kodak Easy Share on the way out the door this morning because I didn't want to lug my big ol' Nikon around for two hours.

However,

I failed to check and make sure that the batteries in it were good.

Actually, I failed to check if there were any batteries in it, period.

There were not.

So I took a few blurry snaps with my new Droid phone, which I've only had for two days.

Which means I have no idea what I'm doing.

And that I took lots of pictures of anonymous feet.

Blurry, anonymous feet.

So that means today is a perfect day to link up with Liz for Fresh Cut Friday instead.

These are all branches cut from the woods around our house and out at the hunting club.

I bought the handmade blue pottery vase at ArtFest in Matthews, NC years ago.

Thanks for hosting, Liz!

  3. No!! How did you manage that??!! You definitely have connections! Sounds like so much fun. At least you knew how to make the camera work...when I get a new phone it takes more than a few days to figure it out.

  8. Your arrangement is beautiful. How lucky you are to have that kind of beauty growing in the great outdoors around your home.

  9. How cool it is that you got to hang out with Eddie and Jaithan?! Too bad about the vendors conduct... snarkiness is so unattractive. Your arrangement is beautiful, by the way.

  10. How fun!!! Did you get anything or did you just have fun browsing?? Your arrangement is purdy...you said hunt club? Do they accept new members? My husband belongs to the Charlotte Rifle & Pistol range, but not a hunt club. He hunts mostly in the woods in the backyard.
