Oh Happy Day

Happiness is as a butterfly, which, when pursued,
is always just beyond our grasp, but which,
if you will sit down quietly,
may alight upon you.
(Nathaniel Hawthorne)

I'm at home today;
futzing,
puttering,
sweeping,
laundering,
spritzing,
loving my house.
Quietly reveling in a few days of fall respite.
Watching the leaves fluttering down outside my window.

B and the Tater Tot have left me to my own devices.
They are having their own Fall Break in a tree stand in the woods.

Oh, Happy Day.

  1. Sweet post... & fond memories... when the boys were small, I was home with them...then they got old enough to go along... fall hunting, meant some chinese & a movie for me all alone... good for you to be cleaning, I would be vegging :)

  2. Hey Miss Kathy! Never fear, there's plenty of vegging going on over here! And now I have an overwhelming urge for some General Tso's chicken. Be back soon....

  5. Don't you just love futzing & puttering? I love days spent doing that & should probably allow myself a few more here and there. I call them my "renewal" time. I really enjoy your blog.

  8. I love your blog. Period. The end. PS: My cat Madeleine looks a lot like George. She's a real priss butt so they'd probably get along just fine.
